Russia announced on Monday to cancel the Year of Russian-Turkish Cooperation, scheduled for 2016, according to Russian deputy prime minister Olga Golodets.
“The decision was made as part of restrictive measures in economic and humanitarian areas, taken as a response to the act of aggression from Turkey,” Golodets said.
Russian culture minister Vladimir Medinsky told Ria Novosti news agency on November 26 that all plans of hosting bilateral cultural and tourism years between Russia and Turkey are now off, after the downing of a Russian Su-24 bomber by Turkish Air Force on November 24.
