BEIJING, Dec. 22 -- Han Xiancong, former vice chairman of the Political Consultative Conference of east China's Anhui Province, was prosecuted for bribery and abuse of power, according to an announcement from the Supreme People's Procuratorate on Tuesday.
The decision was made by the municipal People's Procuratorate of Nanping in south China's Fujian Province, the SPP said in the announcement.
According to the procuratorate's indictment, Han took advantage of his positions to seek profits for others and illegally received large sums of property, resulting in heavy losses of state property, which constitutes a crime.
Han will be given criminal sanctions by the Intermediate People's Court of Nanping, the indictment said.
The Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection put Han under investigation for suspected discipline and law violations in December, 2014, five months after he was removed from his post.
