
NANNING, Jan. 9 -- Seven people died and four others were injured after a truck overturned and squashed a tricycle with 11 farmers aboard on Friday afternoon in south China, said government sources.
The white sugar-loaded truck rolled over and crushed the tricycle at around 5:30 p.m. Friday on a rural road in Xingbin District, Laibin City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said the city government.
Two were thrown out of the tricycle while nine others were trapped. Seven died after treatment failed. Two seriously injured passengers are in stable condition and another two suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
