
HAIKOU, Jan. 21 -- A fishing boat overturned off the coast in south China's island province of Hainan Thursday, leaving five people missing, local government said.
The accident occurred at 2:30 a.m. in the waters near Wenchang City. Eleven people fell into water, and six of them managed to swim ashore.
The provincial maritime search and rescue center received the report at 3:17 a.m. and sent a rescue force immediately.
