Beijing Municipal Education Commission said Monday that suggestions that several prestigious universities might be moved out of Beijing are not true.
The Commission made the clarification on the official weibo account of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
In the statement, the commission said that it had never considered moving universities out of Beijing.
The suggestion about a possible move by some universities in Beijing first came from posts on Hebei Daily's official weibo and Wechat accounts on Jan. 24. The posts were later deleted.
