
BEIJING, April 13 -- China's top legislator Zhang Dejiang met with visiting Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.
Speaking highly of China-Nigeria relations, Zhang, chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, said he hoped the two countries could strengthen parliamentary exchanges, especially in anti-corruption and legal assistance, and improve laws related to trade and economic cooperation to promote development of bilateral relations.
Buhari echoed Zhang, saying Nigeria is ready to strengthen parliamentary exchanges and cooperation with China.
Buhari was invited by President Xi Jinping for a state visit to China. During the talks with Xi on Tuesday afternoon, the two countries agreed to upgrade their strategic partnership.
