
NANCHANG, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Seven people died and another five were injured after a bus and truck collided in eastern China's Jiangxi province, local traffic authorities said on Monday.
A long-distance bus carrying 27 passengers collided with a truck at about 8:10 p.m. on Sunday on a highway near Xiajiang County, highway police said.
By 10 a.m. Monday, seven people had died and five remained hospitalized.
Police sources said the accident may have been caused by mishandling of the vehicles. Further investigation is under way.
