By the year 2020, China will have more than 70,000 soccer fields across the country, according to a plan released jointly by the China Football Association and relevant state departments.
More than 60,000 soccer fields will be built between 2016 and 2020. As for the opening hours, the plan stipulates that school soccer fields be available to the public when not in use for educational purposes in order to get the most use out of campus facilities. The same requirements will also apply to fields affiliated with state institutions.
In addition, the plan stresses the importance of ensuring the quality of construction and implementing effective management after the fields are built.
