A long-finned pilot whale stranded in south China's Hainan was put under protection by local residents after it was found on beach on May 16.
The 3.5 meters’ long-finned pilot whale weighs 1000 kilograms. It was kept in water and was shadowed by shade cloth put up by local residents to keep its body temperature.

The marine wildlife rescue experts called on scene on May 17 did a brief check-up and are still working on transporting it to a nearby location for further treatment, before it fully recovers and is ready to go back to the ocean.
