A noted Chinese eSports player was injured by a Didi driver in Changsha, central China’s Hunan province with his left wrist badly slashed.

Ma Xiqing, the player, had his left wrist and back slashed on Friday as he was riding in a car arranged by DidiChuxing, a leading Chinese ride app and also Uber’s Chinese rival, reported the official Sina Weibo account of the Newbee e-sports club where Ma worked.

The club claimed that Ma suffered from a 50-centimeter-long cut on his back and two tendons on his left hand were cut by the driver.

According to the club, Ma and the driver had agreed not to pool any other passengers, but the driver changed his mind and instead drove in the opposite direction to pick up another passenger.
