BEIJING, June 29 -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday urged the Republic of Korea (ROK) to address China's concerns on security and "cautiously and appropriately" address the United States' plan to deploy the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system in the country.
Xi made the remarks as he met with visiting ROK Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn in Beijing.
China and the ROK should continue to work for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, work together to maintain peace and stability on the Peninsula, and solve problems through dialogue and consultation, said the president.
