Jinshan Cave is located in Yaoling Mountain, Doushan Village, Changping Town, Nanzhang County, Xiangyang City. Jinshan Cave boosts spectacular scenery and Buddha statues, known as Mogao Caves of Central Plains.
Jinshan Cave is about 200 meters high and 150 meters wide. Five caves are of different size, each with a life-size Buddha statue or a god statue. Seven caves on the bold cliff form a complete picture. Before the bold cliff are a small bridge over the flowing stream as well as dense forest and lush flowers, which brings mystery and beauty to the fairyland on earth.
According to epigraphic records, during the period of Emperor Qianlong, Jiaqing, Daoguang, Xianfeng and Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, the Buddha hall has been reconstructed for many times, and Buddha statues in the caves were also replaced.
