BEIJING, July 21 (Xinhua) -- China will establish 10 websites to promote programs and raise funds for charity organizations, the Ministry of Civil Affairs said Thursday.
The websites will be selected among those with great influence and credibility on the Internet and charity sectors, the ministry said.
Applicants are required to submit applications and the finalists will be made public by the ministry after review and evaluation.
Online philanthropy has become popular in China, as many believe it offers more convenience and transparency compared to traditional methods of donation.
