A Chinese man in Ezhou, Hubei province assembled a bouquet out of banknotes worth 9,999.99 yuan ($ 1,505) to surprise his girlfriend on Qixi Festival, or Chinese Valentine's Day, local media reported.
The man said it wasn't easy to find one-fen (0.01 yuan) banknotes. He had to expand his search to another city in order to collect all nine of the notes he needed. Employees of the flower shop that helped the man assemble his bouquet admitted that they were quite jealous of the bouquet's recipient.
