On August 7, a severe rainstorm hit Nanzhang County, Xiangyang city. Due to concentrated rainfalls from 6 AM to 9 AM, the cumulative precipitation of northeastern Nanzhang exceeded 300 mm, causing landslides, traffic interruption, farmland inundation and housing destruction in the rainfall concentrating areas.
