Deafening and thunderous explosions were heard on Thursday in the South China Sea, where China’s PLA South Sea Fleet were conducting military drills.

Huge and powerful volumes of waters were seen pushing up high from the ocean the minute the soldiers detonated the naval mines.

It is the fleet’s first time conducting such drill in the area. The drill was far more high level and difficult in comparison to those the PLA had conducted in the past, indicating a further advancement for Chinese PLA Navy's ability.
