On September 24, 2016, Hubei Fishing Club Championship (Xiangyang) and 2016 Hubei Carp Fishing Elites Contest (Xiangyang) was launched at the Fishing Base of Xiangyang Achou Folklore Garden. More than 200 fishing fans came from all over the country to compete against one another in the competition. It was the first time that Xiangyang had held such a large-scale fishing competition.
The competition attracted fishing masters from all over the country, among whom more than 100 people are state-level fishing masters. All the fishing masters ranking TOP 5 in the country were present.
