BEIJING, Oct. 26 -- The 2016 annual conference of the summit for entrepreneurs across the Taiwan Strait will be held on November 6 and 7 in Kinmen County in Taiwan and Xiamen City on the Chinese mainland, a mainland spokesperson said Wednesday.
An Fengshan, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said at a regular press conference that innovation, cooperation and the integrated development of industries will be the theme for the event.
The event will kick off in Kinmen while the closing ceremony will be held in Xiamen, according to An.
He said the summit is an important platform for entrepreneurs and economic observers across the Taiwan Strait to discuss the macro-economy and industry development.
It is also an important occasion to promote cooperation among companies across the Taiwan Strait, he added.
According to An, seven forums will be set up as part of the annual meeting to cover issues including exchanges between small and medium-sized enterprises and young people's employment and entrepreneurship.
The business summit was first held in 2008 in Nanjing, capital city of Jiangsu Province.
