Recently, Wa Tribe was performed in Hangzhou Theater, receiving “l(fā)ikes” from all sectors of society. Wa Tribe, a large original song and dance drama, is a blend of mythology and legend, worship ceremony, and folk custom of the Wa ethnicity.
Condensing the wisdom and efforts of Pu’er people, Wa Tribe showed achievements in the development of ethnic culture in Pu’er City.
Wa Tribe, as a key cultural program in Yunnan Province and Pu’er City, has won many awards, such as Gold Award of “The 11th Modern Drama (Program) Festival” of 2011, Silver Pheasant Gold Award of “The 14th Middle and Southern Yunnan Folk Festival” of 2012, and Gold Award of “The 2nd Minorities Festival of Yunnan” of 2013.
