Three new species of insects have been discovered in the Dalaoling Nature Reserve in the Three Gorges region. Preliminary information on the insects was released to the public last Sunday. The newly discovered species were discovered by an insect biodiversity research group led by Xie Guanglin, a doctor at Yangtze University. After an assessment by Shi Fuming, a renowned taxonomist specializing in katydids, the insects were confirmed as previously unrecorded species.

Dalaoling Natural Reserve is located in the Yangtze River's Xiling Gorge, which boasts a good biological environment and biodiversity.
