On November 16, at the Plaque Award Ceremony of Hubei Cross-Strait Exchange Base, Yicheng Zhang Zizhong Memorial received the plaque of Hubei Cross-Strait Exchange Base.
On May 16, 1940, General Zhang Zizhong gave his life for his country in the Battle of Zaoyang-Yichang. He died in Shilichangshan, Yicheng New Street, Xiangyang. In memory of this anti-Japanese national hero, Zhang Zizhong Memorial was built in Yicheng in 1991. Through extension, the new memorial covers an area of 1,300 square meters.
Since 2015, the memorial has received six Taiwan delegations with a total of over 220 members.
