
A couple in a village of southwest China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have been treating their 92-year-old mother “as a pig” for several years by locking her up in a dark, filthy pig pen. The disclosed video of which has gone viral on Chinese social media, and local police are now looking into the case.

In the video, an elder woman, locked up in a pig pen, was sitting by the iron fence. With poor sanitation, the hut was less than 10 square meters and there was not a proper door or bed but a wooden board, an old quilt on top.

"There is sand…but my eyes cannot see," said the elder in the video.
Currently, Yang has been rescued from the hut and sent to the hospital. According to the police, the couple may be suspected of the crime for ill treatment.
