On Feb. 1, a 30-year-old Chinese white dolphin found its way into Baisha River in Jiangmen, Guangdong province. Relevant local departments soon put together a rescue team, attempting to drive the animal back to the ocean. However, the creature was unable to find its way back.

"The dolphin is not in a good condition, and its skin is full of ulcers," said Feng Kangkang, an employee of Jiangmen Guangdong Chinese White Dolphin Provincial Nature Reserve. A rescue team will soon start 24-hour observation and monitoring of the white dolphin's health condition using acoustic instruments and infrared ray technology. In addition, a rescue plan will be created to save the animal's life.
