Several ancient Quanzhou (Zayton) historical sites in Fujian province will apply for world cultural heritage status in 2018. The sites were part of an important port city in China in the golden age of the Maritime Silk Road.
Liusheng Pagoda, also known as Wanshou Pagoda, along with Shihu Port play a major role in Quanzhou’s application for world cultural heritage recognition. Ancient Quanzhou historical sites show the prosperity of Quanzhou during the Song (960-1279 AD) and Yuan (1271-1368 AD) Dynasties.
