
BEIJING, March 8 (People’s Daily) The joint working group of China and ASEAN countries has made visible progress in consultation and produced the first draft of code of conduct (COC) framework,Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Wednesday.This joint effort of China and ASEAN countries aims to set rules for the South China Sea region.
The minister also stressed that over the past year, the situation in the South China Sea has calmed down visibly. At this moment, if someone should continue to disturb trouble in the South China Sea, he will face common opposition from the whole region. China will not allow the hard-won stability to be disrupted once again.
Wang made the remarks at a press conference on the sidelines of the ongoing annual session of the National People's Congress.
