
BEIJING, May 16 (Xinhua) -- China is willing to deepen health cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) under the Belt and Road Initiative, according to Vice Premier Liu Yandong.
Liu held a meeting on May 13 with WHO Director-General Margaret Chan, who came to Beijing to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation on May 14-15, said an official statement released on Tuesday.
Chan commended the initiative's principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, saying the WHO will further enhance its cooperation with China, according to the statement.
