According to the Chengdu Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, a special plan to build charging facilities for electric vehicles in Chengdu, Sichuan province was recently approved, Chengdu Business Daily reported on May 23.
The plan shows that 88,000 charging piles and 780 charging stations will be built in Chengdu by 2020, covering residential communities, commercial premises, workplaces, hospitals, schools, parking lots, highway service areas, gas stations and tourist attractions. The development means that it will be as convenient to charge new-energy automobiles in the future as it is to refill a gas tank nowadays.
Meanwhile, the city will further improve the information services of charging facilities by building a data platform for information including the locations of the facilities, the specifications of the equipment and the cost of charging. Chengdu will implement a supportive policy on the price of charging, which will be fixed on the basis of facilities' locations.
