
CHANGSHA, June 6 (Xinhua) -- One person died in east China's Jiangxi Province from a lightning strike when heavy rain hit central and east China since Monday.
Provincial disaster relief office said heavy rain hit three cities, and displaced 220 people. About 243 others are in need of supplies and shelter.
Flood prevention authorities have ordered staff to closely monitor floods and inspect reservoirs.
Since Monday, downpours hit central China's Hunan Province. Over 1,400 people were evacuated.
The province faces more flood threats as rain will continue on Wednesday.
