BEIJING, June 15 -- Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino at the Great Hall of the People here on Wednesday.
Liu gave Infantino an overall picture of China's push for football reform and explained its efforts to develop the game across the country.
The vice premier said that, as a member of the international football family, China would play its part in advancing football culture worldwide, all the while taking steps to increase the popularity of football domestically.
Infantino echoed Liu's remarks by saying that the development of Chinese football is set to have a positive and lasting impact on the sport.
The FIFA head also praised the Chinese government for attaching great importance to football development, adding that the sport's governing body would offer managerial and technical support and enhance its cooperation with China.
