Hydrogen fuel and electricity can complement each other to jointly promote development of new energy vehicles, said Wan Gang, Minister of Science and Technology, on June 25, The Paper reported.
Wan made the statement at an international seminar on hydrogen fuel cells and intelligent vehicle technologies in Changchun, NE China’s Jilin province, saying that fuel cells that use hydrogen can lead to long-lasting, reliable, high performing new energy vehicles.
He added that some foreign countries and regions have been paying a lot of attention to strategic plans for new energy vehicles entering the market.
Wan said China must both strengthen policy coordination to master core technologies and advance industrial and market synergy.
The country will integrate all its resources and cooperate internationally to promote the development of hydrogen fuel cell technologies and their applications around the world, said Wan.
