Four Indian soldiers were killed and two Indian check posts were destroyed by the Pakistan Army on Sunday, after the deaths of seven people caused by unprovoked Indian shelling across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir, the Pakistan Army confirmed on Monday.
Pakistani general and director of the army's media wing Asif Ghafoor tweeted "...Indian forces targeted innocent civilians along the LoC. Indian guns silenced effectively.”
"Pakistan Army stands by the innocent civilian population against unprovoked Indian ceasefire violations and would continue to respond befittingly to this naked aggression,” he added in another tweet.
Pakistan and India declared a ceasefire along the LoC in 2003. However, both routinely accuse each other of violations.
