
Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday sent a congratulatory message to Uhuru Kenyatta on his re-election as Kenyan president.
In his message, Xi said that he highly values the development of China-Kenya relationship, and hopes to work with President Kenyatta to further advance their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, so as to better benefit the two countries and their peoples.
Kenyatta was declared winner of the country's presidential election on Friday night after garnering 54.27 percent of the total votes cast.
