To improve young people’s health and build up their characters and team spirit, many schools in China organize military training for students during the summer vacation. In the past, the training has been focusing on adjusting students’ standing and walking postures. Some special programs have emerged in recent years, which create remarkable memories for students who take part in.

For example, students in Hangzhou, city in eastern China, were asked to carry wood logs, cross through water guns and move tires, just like soldiers in the popular Wolf Warriors movie do. In Wuhan, capital city of China’s central Hubei province, students were trained to relieve the injured on an arranged “battle field”. In Dalian, city of northeastern China’s Liaoning province, students took their trainings on real warships and submarines and carried out duties with their teammates on deck. Military trainings of this sort can shape students’ personalities.

Nowadays, many children are raised in “honey jars”. They rarely have the chance to face and solve life difficulties on their own. It’s the age of internet, the kids also have less experience in communicating with each other face to face. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen their characters through obstacles and teamwork. Youngsters will grow stronger and be more responsible and fearless when they conquer more difficulties along their road to future.
