Tan Zongliang from Shandong Province set a new world record in men's 10m air pistol final with 242.3 points at the 13th Chinese National Games in Tianjin on Wednesday.
Tan, a 46-year-old veteran, competed at five Olympic games from 1996 to 2012. He won a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in 50m pistol.
The previous world record was set by Christian Reitz of Germany with 241.6 points on March 10, 2017, at European Shooting Championship in Maribor of Slovenia.
