

The Colombo South Container Terminal
Throughput at the China-invested Colombo South Container Terminal in Sri Lanka is expected to reach 2.35 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) this year, the Xinhua News Agency reported on Dec. 26.
The container terminal is a pragmatic China-Sri Lanka cooperation project in construction of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
With an investment of $550 million, the terminal was completed in advance and put into operation in 2014.
