Vacant residents’ parking spaces in the daytime are used as shared parking spaces to facilitate the parking of the surrounding vehicles. The drivers who work nearby can download the “Desheng Shared Parking” app and find shared parking spaces through the app’s navigation function. They can book a shared parking space according to the distance of their cars from the parking space and pay online. Users are charged 6 yuan per hour, much cheaper than nearby roadside parking.

The shared parking project not only can make good use of the existing parking space stock in residential community and thus reduce illegal parking problems, but also provides those residents who offer their own parking spaces as shared parking spaces with 60% of the dividend income, or 3.6 yuan per hour. In Huangsi No.24 Community, the monthly rent for each parking space is 180 yuan. Residents can use their dividend income to pay for their own rental of parking spaces.
