

The opening ceremony of 2017 China (Arxan) International Ice and Snow Festival took place Saturday night in Arxan, Inner Mongolia.
The three-month-long ice-themed festival, which kicked off on December 10, 2017, will celebrate various events till March 20, 2018. Visitors can enjoy winter sports activities, taekwondo contests, ice sculpture exhibitions, and painting and calligraphy exhibitions co-organized by China, Russia, and Mongolia.
Arxan, which means hot springs in Mongolian, is an ethnically diverse city located in Hinggan League in east of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. There are direct flights from Beijing to Arxan every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, providing convenience for nearby visitors to tour the city.
