Giant pandas rolled around and played in the snow Monday after the first snow covered the research base in Chengdu, southwest China’s Sichuan province, People’s Daily Online reported.
Pandas like snow and bamboo. The recent snow is not only a New Year gift for Chengdu, a city which rarely sees snow, but also good news for the fuzzy black-and-white snow fans.

Ten pandas live at the 1.3-square-kilometer research base. They enjoy the good air quality, high hills, and deep valleys located in the upper reach of the Yangtze River and each has its own “private garden” equipped with uneven beds, trees, and various toys like balls.
Winter snow has brought joy to the national treasures.
