Laoganma, a popular chili sauce made in China, has reached markets in over 80 countries and regions, and made remarkable sales around the globe, Chinanews.com reported Wednesday.

In the past five years, Laoganma Special Flavor Foodstuffs Company earned more than 20 billion RMB and contributed 3.2 billion RMB in taxes to the local government, said Liu Tao, secretary to the president of the chili sauce producer.
The sauce was made in a small workshop just two decades ago. But today, the company produces more than 3 million bottles daily thanks to automated and smart manufacturing, according to Liu Tao. A variety of flavors have been produced, with 1-3 new products developed every year, and the brand is welcomed by customers in more than 80 countries and regions.
Located in southwest China’s Guizhou province, Laoganma has provided more than 5,000 jobs to local residents each year and has lifted 180,000 rural people out of poverty, adding fuel to the poverty alleviation cause of the whole province.
