A series of photos showing Chinese soldiers clearing roads of snow has generated buzz on Chinese social media. Chinese internet users call them “the most beautiful snowmen in the snowstorms.”
Heavy snow has been falling on central and eastern China since January 24. The National Meteorological Center issued an orange alert, the second highest level in a four-tier snowstorm warning system. Some regions or provinces like Anhui, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Shanghai and Zhejiang saw 10 to 20 centimeters of snow on Thursday and Friday. The snowstorms had caused enormous delays and cancellations to trains and flights.
