On January 29, the Plan for Purple Line Control of Central Urban Areas in Xiangyang, compiled by the Xiangyang Urban and Rural Plan Compilation and Research Center, passed an expert review. The plan draws a purple line for 145 historical buildings, including Xiangyang City Wall, Ancient Longzhong and Green Screen Wall, and determines management and control measures for protected objects.

The city purple line is a line defining the range of protection of historical and cultural blocks in renowned national historical and cultural cities.
