
The third international microfilm ceremony for the China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival was held Wednesday in Haikou, the capital of Hainan province in southernmost China, attracting hundreds of celebrities and insiders from home and abroad, People’s Daily Online reported on March 28.
The microfilm ceremony, under the authority of China Film Association, is the only official event of this kind and this year marks its third installment.
Organizers received a total of 7,300 works from various sources such as government, non-government institutions as well as universities, and also, there were over 200 international microfilms from 27 countries participating in the event.

A forum was also held based on the theme of the development of China's film and television using the multi-cultural environment of the Internet. Film experts and scholars from home and abroad had in-depth discussions with about 300 attendees and they provided forward looking guidance for the industry.
