KUNMING, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese adventurer Jin Feibao, 55, announced here on Friday that he is going to take on a big challenge - to run 100 marathons in 100 consecutive days.
The campaign will start on May 19 at Haigeng Park in Kunming and he will run across Yunan province and return to Kunming again on August 26.
"Yunnan is my hometown, 100 marathons in 100 days will tell the stories of what is happening in Yunnan, I just want to highly recommend Yunnan's famous attractions to the world through my running," Jin said.
"Now I am ready, I have prepared myself. All the 100 running routes are Yunan's countryside roads, which will take me to the 16 prefectures in Yunnan."
Jin, a native of Kunming, is a devoted mountaineer and marathon runner. He has completed the Explorers Grand Slam, summiting the highest mountains in every continent, reaching both the North and South Poles and has finished more than 70 marathon races.
