The opening ceremony of the Liangdu “Cool Summer” Culture Festival was held yesterday, July 25, in the city of Liupanshui of Guizhou province.
The festival also marked the beginning of the 2018 Liupanshui Belt and Road & ASEAN Media Tour, which will see over 100 international reporters, overseas ASEAN students and experts explore the province to find out more about the culture here and how the government is implementing poverty alleviation methods in the province of Guizhou, which is currently one of China’s poorest provinces despite having rich natural resources and being known for its cool and pleasant summers.
The Culture Festival, which took place at the Liangdu Grand Theater, showcased Guizhou’s rich cultural heritage and minority traditions, with spectacular performances from dancers and singers who had been practicing for a month.
