

The Xiqi Alsophila Forest of Mojiang Hani Autonomous County, Pu’er City, is a glacial relic, among which the Cyathea chinensis and the Alsophila are treelike ferns as relict species.
As verified, the Cyathea chinensis of Mojiang Xiqi Alsophila Forest is concentrated in a valley with an altitude of 1600 meters. Within an area of around 10,000 mu, there are 64,089 tree ferns ranging from a few centimeters to 10 meters in height. The DBH of the ferns up to 30 centimeters, the quantity of species is exceptionally large in the forest, which, thereby, boasts a “gene base” of fine wild Cyathea chinensis species.
