

The Rhododendron Lake of Ailao Mountain in Jingdong Yi Autonomous County of Pu'er City is a high altitude artificial lake built in the 1950s.
The Rhododendron Lake of Ailao Mountain is located at the edge of Ailao Mountain National Nature Reserve. It has the most well-preserved sub-tropical mountain wet evergreen broad-leaved forest in the world. Each tree in the forest is respectively covered with green moss regardless of its size and shape. At present, preparations are being made for the construction of the largest fully movable radio telescope in China and even in the world beside the Rhododendron Lake of Ailao Mountain.
