
FUZHOU, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- China's Xiamen Airlines will launch a direct flight linking Fuzhou, capital of east China's Fujian Province, and Paris, France, on Dec. 11.
Using the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the outbound flight will leave Fuzhou at 12:30 a.m. Beijing time and arrive in Paris at 6:55 a.m. local time every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. One single trip will take 13 hours and 25 minutes.
Fuzhou is a key city on the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, part of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative aimed at building trade and infrastructure networks connecting Asia with Europe and Africa on and beyond the ancient Silk Road routes. The initiative comprises the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
The city has seen increasing exchanges overseas. Currently, 117 air routes connect Fuzhou to foreign cities.
