
GUANGZHOU, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- China Southern Airlines (China Southern), the country's largest air carrier, transported 300,000 passengers during the first day of 2019 Spring Festival travel rush on Monday, said the airline Tuesday.
Around 1,800 flights have been dispatched to meet the surging passenger flow during the day, according to the company.
Guangzhou-based China Southern operates a large fleet of about 840 airplanes, ranking the first in Asia and third worldwide.
The airline has implemented a series of new digital means to upgrade the passenger flight experience as well as the airline's efficiency alongside China's booming civil aviation demands.
From Jan. 21 to March 1, air travelers in China are expected to make 73 million trips, up 12 percent year on year, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
