Reports confirm that Beijing will select about 24,000 volunteers to help ensure the success of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2019.
The exhibition, commonly known as Beijing Expo 2019, is to be officially held in Beijing on April 29. Volunteers will serve during the event for several months between April 25 and Oct. 7.
About 20,000 volunteers will work inside the Expo site, serving as interpreters and guides during the Expo. Furthermore, 4,000 volunteers will work at service sites around Beijing, including main traffic hubs, to offer services such as information, reception, translation and emergency services.
The training of the volunteers will be completed by the end of this March.
