
BEIJING, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Over 60 countries have said they would send navy delegations to participate in a multinational navy event hosted by China in late April, a spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense said Thursday.
The event will be held in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao to commemorate the 70th founding anniversary of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, spokesperson Wu Qian said at a press conference.
It will include various activities, including high-level symposiums, an international fleet inspection, joint military music display, cultural and sports exchanges, among others, Wu said.
A number of countries will send navy vessels to take part in the international fleet inspection, he added.
April 23 is the 70th founding anniversary of the PLA Navy.
